X 1953 fm 0 HI fs Bardstown, Kentu BARDSTUW lllMl IARY SCH00l pf gig.. I The Bardstown Elementary building was erected in 1908 and served both high school and elementary students for nineteen years. The first board members were: John Shaunty, W. A. Rosenban, Ed O'Bryan, .T. E.. Newman, and L. B. Samuels, the father of one of our present board members. T. W. Samuels. R. C. Cherry was Supt. at the time. At the extreme right is the new addition which connects the elemen- tary building with the high school building. It contains the administrative offices, three very modernistic classrooms, and a boys' rest room. This addition was completed in January of 1952. The superintendent for this graduating class was Franklin Hibbs and the board members were: Henry Muir, Ernest Fulton, J. Dan Talbott, L. B. Samuels, and Frank Wilson. The back of the building which contains the chemistry laboratory, the typing room, the reading room of the library, and the home eco- nomics laboratory was built later.
