COLORS Turquoise and Yellow FLOWER Chrysanthemums Um? Days have passed since fourteen Freshmen entered Bardolph High School. Joining our group were Betty Markley, from Avon and Jim Russell, from Rushville. Our officers for the year were, President, Kay Caspall, Vice President, Judy Leighty, Secretary,Gerry Yeast, Treasurer, Linda Holcomb, Student Council, Sandra Hager, Sponsor, Mrs. McEntire. Our big highlight of the year was sponsoring the annual Valentine Party. In the magazine sales,we were runner-up to the victors. In the fall of '52, we returned as Sophomores. Joan Burkholder and Ronald Weaver left us this year. We sponsored the annual Initiation Party for the freshmen under the leadership of: Presi- dent, Linda Holcomb, Vice President, Judy Leighty, Secretary, Jim Russell, Treasurer, Kay Caspall, Student Council, Gerry Yeast and Sandra Hager, Sponsor, Mrs. Griffeth. We presented our first play, 'Too Much Mistletoe , at Christmas time under the direction of Mrs. Griffeth. Betty Markley and Gerry Yeast moved away in the spring leaving us only ten members in the class. In 1953, we started our Junior year by again winning the magazine sales contest. Gerry Yeast rejoined our group from R.O.V.A. We had the thrill of receiving our 1955 class rings, and pre- senting our first three-act play, lt's a Great Life , under the direction of Mrs. Doak. To climax the year's activities we sponsored the Junior-Senior Prom, a Hawaiian Luau, at the RANNEY'S INC. Macomb, Illinois Hotel Lamoine. Our officers for the year were: President, Linda Holcomb, Vice President, Jim Russell, Secretary Judy Leighty, Treasurer, Gerry Yeast, Student Council, Kay Caspall and Don Davis. Mrs. Doak and Mr. Harmon were chosen as Sponsors. The final year in high school eleven Seniors returned and elected the following officers to guide us: President, Judy Leighty, Vice Presi- dent, Don Davis, Secretary, Jim Russell, Trea- surer, Harold Asher, Student Council, Allen and lmon Sikes, Sponsor, Mrs. McGre,w. With Mrs. Doak as director the Senior Class presented a 3-act play on November 10, entitled 'Swing Your Partner . It has been a busy year, we picked up corn, served creamed chicken suppers, held scrap and paper drives, sold stationery, greeting cards, candy and pencils. We were second in the maga- zine sales. The Juniors entertained us at the Junior-Senior Prom Friday, May 13. The biggest activity of the year was preparing the 1955 Monitor with the help of Mrs. McGrew, our class sponsor. The last of May we took our Senior trip and said our final farewells after receiving our diplomas May 26. Now as our High School sun sinks in the West we join the Alumni Association of Bardolph Community High School. JONES BOWL INN Macomb, Illinois
