BERNARD Principal, Baptiste Junior High School B. S. , M. S. Emporia State College To be meaningful, a principa1's message should probably be conveyed in such a manner that it en- compasses the feeling of those whose Way of thinking it is designed to influence. But pause for a moment and ask yourself the question, Why must we be subjected to in- fluence? Whether We like it or not, we really have little choice. Let's face it, it's a way of life. If we dis- like others constantly attempting to influence us, com- mon sense tells us that the best means of doing some- thing about it is to learn more than the so-called authority. Each of us has altremendous potential. Utilize this potential to live your lives to the best possible ad- vantage. Stop trying to make yourselves old before your time, and practice being what you really are. You can never be thirteen or fourteen ever again. The energy you save will help you achieve what you basically want from life. A Don't be impatient with the way things areg there will always be a sunrise even though you may not be able to see it. You are either going to go on living or you're not. It's simple arithmetic. And because most people prefer living, Why not do the best possible job while there is still time? The only thing you needn't work at is being a failure. That's for just anybody. Don't be just anybodyg be what you really are -- something special. ZWMX JOHN E. THIEL Assistant Principal, Baptiste Junior High School B. S. , M. S. Central Missouri State College
