May Day 1980 May Day is the time when the campus honors those young ladies considered special to BCC. This year's festivities began with the out- going queen, Miss Susan Harrison, singing her version of The Way We Were. Miss Harrison was escorted by Danny Lee, S.G.A. President. Afterwards, the new court was intro- duced. The new court was selected by the students during a previous Con- vocation. The Queen and her court represents to all students those young ladies with outstanding quali- ties that are admired by others. The young lady selected this year to reign as queen was Miss Lynn Lockridge. The Maid of Honor was Miss Lucy Armstrong. The court consisted of Miss Cassandra Bol- den, Miss Paula Baker, Miss Leslie Childress, Miss Sheliah Durham, Miss Nan Fallaw, Miss Kim Gog- gans, Miss Maxine Greene, and Miss Vickie Odom. Mr. John Crooks served as Master of Ceremonies. Entertainment was provided by the B.C.C. choir under the direction of Dr. David Cuttino. Following the ty- ing of the May Pole, Dr. Cuttino sang There'll Never Be Another You . Parents and friends of the May Court were honored at a lun- cheon in the Gold Room following the May Day Ceremony.
