Against Park College, Jim scored the basket that made him the all-time leading scorer in BBC basketball his- tory. BF! Jim receiving Most Valuable Player Award for 1975-'76 season. What are the chances of a man who did not play high school basketball becoming a college basket- ball superstar? Very, very slim, unless you are Jim Edwards. This year was Jim's fourth and final sea- son with the Patriots, and he leaves holding a great many individual records. The six-three one hundred and eighty-five pounder from Pekin, Illi- nois, has all but rewritten the book on BBC basket- ball. On January 28, 1977 , against Park College, Jim became the all time leading scorer in BBC history, surpassing Duane Schnelle's old record of 1633 points. Jim is also the BBC all time leading rebounder and holds the record for career free throws as well as career free throw percentage. He has played in more games than any other Patriot in history, and his record for most consecutive games played stands at over one hundred, with several games still remaining in this season. 177
