MK, The BBC Orchestra seeks to bring honor to the Lord through the performance of sacred music. Its performances include annual Christmas and spring concerts, special programs and cantatas in combined efforts with the BBC Choir, and the providing of accompaniment for congregational singing in weekly chapel services. Soloists and ensemble groups are selected from the orchestra to perform both in concerts and in chapel services. In addition to sacred musical literature, the orchestra studies and performs classical and semi-classical selections. This year's orchestra, under the leadership of David Border, has contributed to the music programs that inspire listeners and brings a Worshipful attitude to chapel services. 'W ff , gg iris ' s. Every Saturday night Mission Prayer Band seeks to orient students to the preaching of the Gospel abroad, although memebers are not limited to those vvho plan to serve on a foreign field. Its chief purpose is to spread missionary interest and to pray for our missionaries faithfully and intelligently. After hearing a guest speaker and participating in soul-rousing singing, members break up into individual groups, each identified with one or more of our Fellowship mission fields, to pray and maintain personal correspondence with the missionary families. Speakers in Mission Prayer Band include missionaries home on furlough, mission-minded pastors, and students preparing for the field. This year the films Like a Mighty Army, To Russia With Love, and What Mean Ye by the Service? were sponsored by the organization. As missionaries present the need for laborers in different countries one is confronted with the question, Is this where my Lord wants me to serve him? Mission Prayer Band has been an instrument used by God to place the burden of specific duty on the shoulders of many men and women already out in the harvest and students preparing for full time Christian service.
