There were pleasant recollections for those who knew her. Her engaging smile blended into an attractive appearance, from which emanated a winsome personality and a friendly spirit. Laura, a 1967 graduate of our school, will long remain a fond memory in the hearts of her teachers and friends at Banquete High School. When we recall the highlights of our education, it will be to our instructors to whom we owe our greatest tributes. There is no final way to assess the worth of a teacher except in terms of those he has taught. Our insight has been deepened, and our knowledge magnified by those who will forever remain bold in our memories. To you who have understood, assisted and encouraged us from the first year to thetlastg to you who have sacri- ficed so generously to prepare us to take our place as citizens' - to you, the TEACHERS OF THE BANQUETE scnoots, we dedircaret our 1968 KENNE1.. ,Q 1 rf' 1968 Board ot Trustees Left to Right: Willie Schroeder, Alton Haug, Pres. Leon Reagan, Vice-Pres. Tommy Latham, Sec, Lenert Pfeiler L.D. Smith, Dick LeB1eu, Otis Burroughs. Our Superintendent MR. OTIS W. BURROUGHS, has for several years led in the admira- ble progress of our school system. His sincere interest in the student body and his excellent executive ability are evident to everyone. Principals MR. VERNON L. BOHACH is well equipped for his tremendous job as principal because he has experienced almost all the problems that a teacher or principal has, for he has been both. Every day he deals with student problems, supervises school activities, and maintains strict discipline l.l'1 a fitting blend of authority and understanding. in spite of his crowded schedule, he can always find time to help any student or teacher when help is needed. r Guide Schools MR. ROBERT E. LESTER fills an important function in the efficient operation of our schools. He takes care of school money, makes school reports, and serves as assistant principal of the Banquete schools. In addition to these duties, he also teaches a shorthand class in high school. Let it be said that, as a friend, and as a principal, the services of Mr. Lester are great- ly appreciated. Most Likely To Succeed Elsie To her classmates she is known as a darked-haired, sparkling eyed girl who spreads her charm and happiness where- ever she goes, Her excellent scholas- tic record is another reason why Elsie is truly deserving of this title. lt is not just the title of Most Like- ly To Succeed that gives a student the tremendous prestige, and honor be stowed by this achievement, but the rigid qualifications that must be met before a student can attain this honor, which makes it one of the most coveted at BHS. Abel ELSIE GUAIARDO ABEL LOPEZ 5 KAT HY SC HROE DER A beautiful smile, a clear com- plexion, and a neat appearance have made Kathy a most attractive and charming girl.
