DEDICATION In the composition of any work of art there are three prerequisites: an artist, the tools with which he works, and subject matter. The artist can be either a sculptor, a painter, a writer, or a composer; above all he is a creator. The tools the artist uses vary with what he is creating and so does his subject matter, but even so the end results are always alike in that they are original works of art. The San Gorgonian also is an original work of art which needs a composer, tools he can use, and subject matter. We, the students of Banning Union High are the subject matter, the annual staffs are the tools, but who is the artist, the composer? Mr. Joe Waters, the annual staff advisor, of course. For the past eight years the San Gorgonian has been printed under the supervision of Mr. Waters for the enjoyment of the students of Banning Union High. Each year the credit fdr this annual publication has gone to the respective annual staff, but we, mere tools used to produce the yearbook, know that the real credit should go to Mr. Waters as our annual staff advisor. Only through his dedication, effort, and drive do we have a finished annual each year. Without his leadership, pep talks, and general know-how the annual staff would be at a loss most of the time. So, unknown to him, we have affectionately dedicated 10the 1961 San Gorgonian to Mr. Joe Waters, annual staff advisor.
