Principal Deweese Stevens, Superintendent E. B. Powell, and student Carol Nelson welcome his honor. Mayor John Raotz, heading a group of visiting citizens. Lighting technicians and sound-effects men, Chuck Reed and Steve Wages, exhibit a serious mien while awaiting their cues. ofCONTINENT Bruce Maier and Sandy Edmundson chart a pleasant course around the dance floor. The old familiar landscape contains the contours of the future, too; the rugged aspect, the high plateaus, the individual prominences . . . rough terrain and smooth going too. Perhaps the student council member is the future lady mayor; the Senior play stage-hands, tomor- row’s T.V. technicians; and to-day’s Home-coming Queen is a prospective Miss America.
