» DIAGNOSIS: SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS: EARLE B. POWELL BE OF GOOD SPIRIT It is truly fitting that our school should be compared to the human structure—for just as the body, mind, and spirit are integral parts of the individual, so are they all essen- tial to make life at Banning High complete. If a diagnosis were to be made of the body, or physical plant, of our school, it might be found to have “growing pains’ result- ing from the fact that the flesh has out- grown the frame. However, if the mind is strong enough, the ailments of the body need not be too great a handicap. Shakes- peare once said, ‘ ‘Tis the mind that makes the body rich.” Faculty specialists are available to diagnose and give proper exercise and training to the mind, but only the massed student per- sonality can determine what kind of spirit the body is to have. So remember well that a GOOD SPIRIT is necessary for happiness and success, whether applied to the individ- ual or to this larger student body. Earle B. Powell SCHOOL BOARD: Mrs. Esther McClean, Mr. Tom Pierce, Mr. C. O. Barker, Mr. James Whigham, Mr. Robert H. Blee.
