nOur Future Goes To School, Todayn is a slogan of the Nebraska State Education Association. What great significance in those few words! Let us think about it for a moment. Today, in some schoolroom, with some teacher, there is a student who must soon bear much responsibility. Perhaps he is the one on whom you will depend for your well being. Maybe he will be your doctor, your lawmaker, your teacher--or a research scientist--or a space traveler! His success or failure could literally mean life or death to ever so many. Would you want to know that this student is careful and thorough in his learning today? Would you want to know that he is capable, trustworthy, sincere and dependable? Would you want him to be serious in his preparation for this job? Would you want the same assurances of his teacher? Maybe ygu are that student--or that teacher! Perhaps this slogan will encourage teachers to re-dedicate themselves to do an even better job in their all-important task. Perhaps it will help students to realize the importance of their early attitudes, efforts and achievement. Older students particularly should assume a greater responsi- bility toward meeting tomorrow's demands. Half-hearted efforts will not insure success. Each of us should strive to make each day, each week, each month, better than the one before. Remember, its OUR FUTURE--all of us--yours and mine! Congratulations to the class of 1959, and to their advisor, Mrs. Wyatt, on this fine edition of the HWILDCATU. May success and happiness find a prominent place in your future. S cerely, . F. Anderson, Superintendent
