Do you know that when Banks began to grow . . . that (in 1957) the Board of Educa- tion changed the name of our school to L. Frazer Banks High School, in honor of Dr. L. Frazer Banks, who had been Superinten- dent of Birmingham Schools since 1939? that in 1957 the first volume of CONTRAILS was published? that the first publication of THE PILOT, the student handbook, was in 1959? that the first edition of BANKS ' NOTES, the school newspaper, was published in 1959? that our first varsity football game was September 11, 1957? What do you know about the Jets? Do you know . . . that from the very beginning the jet has been the symbol of our school? that our very own jet was brought to Banks in 1961? that nearly every president of the student body sees that it is repainted? And how Banks did grow!
