BIRMINGHAM YOUTH SYMPHONY Paula Byars was honored by being selected as a member of the Birmingham Youth Symphony Orchestra. She was chosen because of her musical talent and interest. NCTE WRITING AWARD Debbie Pinson was chosen as a r ecipient of a writing award given by the National Council of Teachers of English. SENATE PAGE Rindy Bass was honored by being chosen to serve as a page in the United States Senate in Washington, D.C. during the entire school year of 1973-74. The program, entitled A Cele- bration of the Birth, featured a variety of Christmas songs. The program was climaxed by the Girls ' Chorus singing Luebec ' s Christmas Canata, directed by Miss Daphne Grimsley from Bir- mingham Southern College. In the Spring, the Choir will present a program consisting of con- temporary and songs from the 50 ' s. The Choir made a trip to Dis- trict Competition where the girls Chorus was invited to attend State Competition in Tuscaloosa.
