Steve Gurley Leads PRESIDENT TE K (,l Kin Banks High School was opened in September, 1957. One member was chosen from each Session Room, and those members ire called the Student Council. The Student Body officers, along with the officials appointed by the President, make up the Student Cabinet. The Fall Administration, lead by President Steve Gurley, functioned efficiently in co-operation with the elected Student Council and carried out the many functions demanded by the fall agenda. Homecoming mums. Student Directories, Sportsmanship Day, and other such projects were smoothly carried out by the student government. 'Hie officers, elected in the Spring of 1965, were the top candidates of an election which saw one of the most active campaigns in Ranks’ History. Signs were found plastered on walls throughout the halls and in most every room in the school. Students heard all the candidates make campaign speeches at the end of the campaign, following the signing of petitions and qualifying for the race the winners and losers alike gained the experience of honest competition, and several of the losers went oil to win in the Spring Semester race.
