Robctt Nlenhennit, president, awaits to call class meeting to order. SENIORS YVhy do students enjoy high school life? This is the answer! As we think back over the years at B.A.J.H.S., many pleasant memories fill our minds and hearts. Many of these memories can be attributed to our class adviser, Mr. Arnold W'ynne and our class offi- cers: Robert Menhennitt, presidentg Barry Reimer, vice-presidentg Carol Owens, secretary, and Robin Snoddy, treasurer. Under their capable leadership we chose as our class colors, blue and silverg our flowers, the red rose, and our motto: Esteem is our goal. The first highlight of our Senior year was our team's victory over Pen Argyl on Thanksgiving. Our memories would hardly be complete without that. Frank Buti and Kenny Haas were the captains who led us to victory. Bobby Lakey, Tommy Menhennitt, Jimmy XN'ills, Mike Piccerillo, Skip Menhennitt, and Barry Reimer comprised the rest of our gridiron players. Thanksgiving night we all enjoyed ourselves at our victory dance, 'AFootball Fantasy, sponsored by the Senior Class. Music was provided by Bernie Parsons' orchestra. Our senior cheerleaders did a good job in leading the cheers at the football games. The captain is Marilyn Mabus and other members of the squad are Shirley Menhennitt and Jeanne Schultz. Our high- stepping majorettes, led by Ann Sanders, include Carol Beers, Diane Verona and Kathy Russo. Carol Owens, captain, and Louise Catino carried the colors. The next highlight was the Senior Play. Many would-be thespians showed up for tryouts. Mlith the cast finally chosen, the play Arsenic and Old Lace, under the able direction of Mr. Earl Rader, began its long run on Broadway. Many of us will long re- member Teddy's famous Charge, Fast approaching was basketball season. Roy Leidy, Bobby Ferris, Bobby Lakey, Frank Butz, Paul Matlock, and Raymond Amy were our foremost basketball play- ers. The weaker sex also represented us well. Carol Owens, Judy Bishop and Edna Freeman helped the Bangor Lassies on to victory. A famous date for this year was April 24, the date of the Jr.-Sr. Prom. The theme was Moonlight and Roses. Everyone tripped the light fantastic to the music ol' Mark Hilburn's orchestra. On June 5 our Senior Banquet was held at Mt. Airy Lodge, another unforgettable date for the Class of '59, XVith the end of our Senior year rapidly approach- ing, Class Day was a happy, exciting event! On June 10, after a splendid program at the school, we jour- neyed to Mountain Lake I-louse in the scenic Poco- nos where the day was Filled with riding, swimming, and just having a general good time after our strenu- aus Senior year.
