President . . . Vice-President .... Secretary ..... Treasurer .. . Football games, band concerts and proms are only three of the many happy memories the senior class of l956 will retain as they leave the portals of Bangor Area Joint High School to bravely embark on the world be- yond. While freshmen we had the distinction of being the first class to organize in the ninth grade. Under our ad- visor, Mr. Armon Williams, the senior class has always emerged with top-ranking leadership. Donald Keat and Jack Stenlake have filled the positions of president, while Jack Stenlake and Robert Miller served as vice-president. Janet Hancock recorded the minutes tor all four years and Lou Ann Chamberlin, Donna K. Miller and Larry Hill collected class dues. During our senior year we enacted one of the finest Senior Plays ever produced on the BAJHS stage. Out- standing in their roles were Nona Stoddard and Joseph Powlette in, The Man Who Came to Dinner, under the student directorship of Mary Louise Carrescia. Larry Hill ln the field of sports our football team triumphed over arch-rival Pen Argyl, under the signal calling of Jim Freeman. The Slaters' basketball team broke several school records during the season, while Gary Strauss assumed the mound for the last time in the spring. On the social side we sponsored the Thanksgiving Pigskin Prance with music furnished by the Castle Rocks. The Senior Banquet was held in the scenic Poconos and ended with breakfast at the Farm Show building. Our event-filled junior year was highlighted by the Jingle Jamboree dance and Bernie Parsons music. We helped to decorate for the Junior-Senior Prom Garden in the Rain. Shortly after, we iourneyed to Mountain Lake House for our Junior Banquet, which ended the school year. Several seniors excelled in the music department. Donald Keat participated in national and all-state band his senior year. Betty Keller, Gwen Bray and Janet Wills also were outstanding in this field making district chorus.
