There- fore we leel it fitting and proper that our theme should be one so appropriate to the times especially since so many of our graduates are in our great armed forces. DEDI CATI In tribute to his great interest in and earnest promotion of creative work in Bangor High School, we, the Slate Staff with the utmost appreciation and gratitude, dedicate this issue ol the Slate to Mr. VVarren S. Smith. In recent years, he started a Drama Class and with those who were interested in play writing formed the Playmakers. Because of his induction into the Army, he was not able to direct the annual Senior play. However, his creative ability has remained with us throughout the play that he has Written and the dramatic group which helped to produce it. We feel that whatever task Mr. Smith undertakes, whether it be in his country's service or that of his chosen career, he will succeed. 0 PAGE 5 4th Row: Mr. Eisenberg, SIIINJFIIIIPIILIPIII, Mr. Htl, Mr. A. As a member of our faculty, he has taught so long and so many people that he has been the pillar of education in Bangor High School for over a generation. Although he has left us, his sayings and teachings will always live in the memories ol' his pupils. NVe leel sure that past graduates as well as those of the present join with us in expressing our sorrow over the great loss to our school and community. ANCHGRS AWEIGH A if D X f MM MMMM ENIOR CLASS Xlle, the graduating class ol' 1943 wish to express our sincere thanks to Mr. De Haven lor his excellent advice and guid- ance during the time that he acted as our adviscr. Class Motto-Onward Ever Onward Class Colors-l'i1rple and Gold Class FIUIUI'7'4-rx1IlCl'lC2lll Beauty Rose Class Symlm!-American Eagle S L i SENIOR CLASS HISTORY The most important thing that happened in our Freshman year was our trip to Lake Hopatcong. In our Sophomore year we had many members participating in extra- curricular activities and held a very successful party in the auditorium. During our junior year we were more active. We were the proud bearers of the newly selected class ring. From our Christmas dance we received a large proht. The most important event of our Junior year was the banquet, which was held at Buck Hill Falls. Under the leadership ol' Mr. Delelaven, the Senior Class of 1943 had a very delightful Senior year. At Thanksgiving we had our annual Senior dance. The motif of decoration was ol Latin-American countries. Another outstanding event ol' the year was the senior class play Holly House , written by Mr. Wlarren Smith, and presented in the high school auditori- um on the evenings of March 8th and 9th. It was a very great success due to the excellent work on the part ol every member of the cast and all those concerned with the play. On May llth we had our dinner-dance at the Hotel Easton. The Music was furnished by johnny Altieri and his orchestra. Our School days will soon be just a pleasant memory, but the memory of Bangor High School will always live in our hearts. aa 10 O iN'LARlE FRANCES ADANIS Gffifzrrzzl Course Slate Staff lg Monitor lg Glee Club 2. CHEERLE DER WVhich meg? --if NVhat color jacket? -ii XVhat time do we have to be there? 11+ Yes, everyone in our sextet was trying to ask questions at once. But it was a friendly, well spirited organization. They followed the lootball team to all the home and away games, and had a great deal of enthusiasm for the team. Because of the gasoline rationing we were handicapped and were unable to follow the basketball players to every game. Even though we weren't there, our thoughts were with them. Nile are sorry that four seniors are leaving our sextet but we are grateful foi the grand work they did during their membership. The graduates are: Betty I-lance, Betty Menhennitt, Frances Price, and Betty Lou Smith. They wish their successors will find as much enjoyment in cheering our team to victory as they have this year. 1.160 0 Fourth How: Jimmy Fethermen, Frank Fall-one, Ralph Stztnipone, Thomas Fnlvone, Carmen Sllagnola. Feeding our armed forces on the fighting front, as Well as our production forces on the home front, is a most essential job. To help in this gigantic undertaking, the farmers of America have been asked to produce more eggs, more milk, and more meat. This means that now, more than ever before, production must be maintained at maximum levels-that ineflicient, wasteful feeding must stop. Here at Flory, we are proudly doing our part in turning out top- quality feeds that will help farmers produce more. These Flory Feeds are manufactured from choice quality ingredients. They are nutri- tionally correct and up-to--date in every respect. lf you are raising poultry, dairy, 'hogs or other livestock, you w.ill find that on the basis of results alone, Flory Feeds rank with the best despite their reasonable cost. Why not try a bag or two of Flory rations and convince yourself that you can get -the best right here at home. ll' Flor Milling Co., Inc BANGOR, PENNA. Established 1853 Invest in Freedom 0 Buy U. S.
