SENIOR BANQUET On May 22 the Senior Banquet was held at the Baus Haus in La Crosse. A good meal was provided and payed for by the Senior class. The guest speaker was Mr. Wellman. Humorous gifts were given to the teachers by the class, Linda Swiggum read the class history, Kristy O’Heron and Paula Craig delivered the class wills, and the class poem was read by Sonja Everson. 12

CLASS OF 1986 Class Flower Red Rose Class Colors Red and Black Class Motto It’s not so much where we are but m which direction we are moving CLASS HISTORY In August of 1982. we the graduating class of 1986. entered the halls of Bangor High School to begin our high school education Now as our graduation approaches, we take a look back at our last four years With the help of Mr Lund. Mr Rasmussen. Mrs Lee. and Mrs Amann. we started our freshman year by electing those that were to lead us through the year Elected as president was Paula Craig, with Jeff Ranous as vice-president. Davma Lawson as secretary, and Linda Swiggum as treasurer Representing us in Student Council were Mary Hansen. Mark Elliott. Melanie Sommerf»eld. and Sonja Everson As January came about we were faced with the decision on who to chose for winter homecoming court We elected Sonja Everson as our representative, who in turn asked Jim Langrehr to be her escort Jim and Sonia became the first couple to represent our class on a homecoming court The following fall we returned for our sophomore year Many of us had our first hair-raising experiences at driving We also were given the opportunity to order our class rings That year class officers were President-Paula Craig. Vice President-Mmdi Orange. Secretary-Angela Kmstler and Treasurer-Lmda Swiggum Student Council representatives were: Lisa Niedfeldt. Mary Hansen. Sonja Everson, and Curt Wells Soon it was that time of the year again to chose our representatives for winter homecoming That year we chose Jeff Krueger who asked Angela Kmstler to accompany him on court. When we came back in the fall of 1984. we faced a busy junior year To lead the organization of things such as Prom. Mary Hansen was elected as class President. Jeff Ranous as Vice-President. Linda Swiggum as Secretary, and Davma Lawson as treasurer Voted to Student Council were: Lisa Niedfeldt. Curt Wells. Melanie Sommerfield. and Deann Knudston That year. Leonard Antony and Deann Knudtson represented our class as members of the winter homecoming court As April approached our thoughts turned to organizing prom A lot of hard work was put into decorating the gym m our prom colors of blue, green, pink, yellow and white On April 27. 1985 the magical night arrived To top the night off. Jeff Kruege and Melanie Sommerfield were crowned King and Queen Royal attendants of the court were Danny Stanhope and Deann Knudtson. Mark Elliott and Mary Hansen. Kevin Borreson and Lisa Niedfeldt. Brian Craig and Angela Kmstler. Mike Pfatf and Laura Jerome, and Jim Anderson and Sonja Everson With the music provided by Gogi's Musical Wheels, the court danced to the theme 'I Can't Fight This Feeling by REO Speedwagon Also that spring. Jeff Ranous and Kevin Borreson were chosen to attend Badger Boys State and Mary Hansen and Linda Swiggum attended Badger Girls’ State In August of 1986 we returned for our first day of high school for the last time It would prove to be a busy year for all. but also a lot of fun To help get us through the year were President. Paula Craig. Vice-President. Jeff Ranous. Secretary. Sonja Everson, and Treasurer. Davma Lawson Elected to Student Council were: Linda Swiggum Melanie Sommerfield. Lisa Niedfeldt. and Deann Knudtson First on the year's agenda was the planning of fall homecoming Organizing the parade and dance were among the things to be taken to care of The fall homecoming court included Terry Severson and Kristy O’Heron. Jeff Ranous and Mary Hansen. Todd White and Angela Kmstler. David Lets and Lisa Niedfeldt. Al Barton and Melanie Sommerfield. Jeff Krueger and Laura Jerome, with Mike Pfaff and Sonia Everson crowned as King and Queen Once again January brought about the winter homecoming Representatives were Janel Krueger. Girls' Basketball, escorted by Todd White. Jim Langrehr. Boy's Basketball, escorting Melanie Sommerfield. Jeff Krueger. Wrestling, escorting Paula Craig, and Senior Class representative Curt Wells escorting Janel Koltermann. Jeff and Paula were crowned as the King and Queen And tonight, as we sit here and reflect upon our past at Bangor High School, the memories of teachers, friends, family and peers bring us to realize that we have now reached a turning pomt in our lives, and must each go our separate ways But we can always look back on the moments we have shared with each other 11

GRADUATION On May 25. 1986, at 1:30 PM the class of 1986 was together for the last time for graduation. Speakers were Valedictorian, Linda Swiggum and guest speaker, Mr. Dave Lund. The Senior Choir performed We Must Say Goodbye, and diplomas were handed out by school board president Maynard Stratman.
