Along with the addition of the jazz choir and new chairs, they also pur- chased a new stereo system. Because there were twelve freshmen who wanted to par- ticipate in solo and ensemble contest, the twelve looked at the styles of music that they could do and chose to sing jazz songs. This year we had four stu- dents accepted to the Corian Festival. They were Shawn Irish, Darrin Gunderson, Tammy Peters, and Paula Craig. Bangor also had several people who participated in the state solo and ensemble con- test. They were Mary Hansen for her solo, and the triple trio of Lynda Gjertsen, Tammy Pe- ters, Angela Kinstler, Lisa Horstman, Deanna Lee, Shari Herman, Laura Jerome, Linda Swiggum, and Gidget Krueger. 21 Jazz Choir (I. to r.)
