TALENTED TALKERS At the beginning of this year, 20 enthusiastic stu- dents set out to attend the annual Forensics Workshop at UW-L, with their coaches Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Jacobson. Here they learned about the various categories open to them from professors who often serve as judges at meets. As warm-ups for Sub-District, several students participated in the UW-L Tournaments. K. Sprain made it to the power round and placed 3rd overall in her category. Participants in the 1982 Forensics season were: S. Althoff, N. Berg, D. Gunderson, S. Hoffman, W Hoth, S. Irish, L. LaBarre, S. Langrehr, A. Loback, D Niedfeldt, V. Niedfeldt, J. Olsen, N. Piske, S. Schams, H Smith, K. Sprain, J. Streeton, K. Torgerud, C. Turmire West Salem was the host to the Sub-District contest held on March 9. Out of 19 Bangor competitors, 17 received A s and advanced to the District contest. In the District competition all but eight students were elminiated with B's The eight students who received A's at District ad- vanced to the season climax-State Competition. April 24 dawned fair and at 7:00 the eight stu- dents and their devoted coached set out for state, Madison Wi. in the schools most elegant form of locomation — the carryall When they re- turned four students had A's and four B's.
