fudm! Kouncil FRONT ROW: George Hesselbergg Greg Wegner, Pres, Carmon Squire, Kathy Jones, Vice Pres. 5 Patti Meyer. SECOND ROW: Mr. Thompson, Advisor, Kris Stratman, Recording Sec. 5 Kathy Stratman, Sec. 5 Carol Lee, Roberts, Treas. 3 Bob Stiegerwaldg ABSENT: Mrs. Kroner, Advisor. The Student Council is an organization which is repre- sentative of the student body.- It serves as a middleman between the students and the administration and faculty. Its purpose is to promote school spirit and sportsmanship and offer helpful opinions on subjects it may be asked to comment on. A The Student Council's past method for organization each year has been the election of a boy and girl from each class. Beginning with the 1968-69 school year a new plan will be instigated. A freshman boy will be elected to serve two years on the Student Council. In the next ' two proceeding years a sophomore girl will be elected for two years and then a junior boy for two years. The cycle will then begin over again except that the pattern will begin with a freshman girl and, thus' alternate each year. This plan was drawn up to make the Student Council more efficient. The members who serve two years will have the experience needed to make the organization beneficiary to the student body. Each year the Student Council sponsors the Football Homecoming besides their various small programs-- locker checks and dress-up days. 26 Student Council President Greg Wegner is explain ing the new Amendment to interested Student body members: Kathy Jones, Jackie Danielson, Jack Challet, and Ken Wolf. r
