She was interviewed privately and then judged on such traits as attractiveness, poise, and ability to speak publicly. D424 K keczjvieut This years DAR representative from BHS was Vicki Sparks. As a representative in the Daughters of.American Revolution Good Citizens Contest, she must possess qualities of dependability, service, lead- ership, and patriotism. Ken Wolf earned the salutatorian award this year. Along with this honor he was also named an Outstanding Teenager of America for 1968. Hadgcr Hays ,Ami Hadgcr Girls Stat? For one week in june each summer the American Legion of- fers two junior boys the chance to attend Badger Boys State at Ripon College andlone junior girl to attend Badger Girls State at Madison. Last summer Ken Wolf, Dan Jones, and Jeanette Gerke became citizens of Badger. In this imaginary city of Badger, informational speeches on government are given and mock elections are held for local, county, and state offices. The citizens of Badger become acquainted with these levels of government to prepare them for the future years when they will become active community citizens and leaders.
