Physics and Chemistry This year both Physics and Chemis- try were taught by Mr. Bruce Yount. Physics was a very useful course, espe- cially for those students interested in engineering. They studied the scienti- fic laws of motion and energy which included Isaac Newton and Albert Ein- stein, respectively. They gained more knowledge of the laws by solving nu- merous problems and equations. In Chemistry, students learned about the elements that makes up our world. They studied the periodic table of elements and learned how atoms combine to form compounds. They also studied the dUferent levels and sub- levels of the atom. The course work was supplemented by laboratory ex- periments. Both classes, Physics and Chemistry, provided students with the necessary background needed for fu- ture college science classes. Math For LUe In Consumer Math, students learned the type of math that is needed to be a smart consumer. They learned how to work with We insurance premiums and home financing problems. The class also had practice in computing inter- est, filling out income tax forms, and balancing checkbooks. The General Math classes were taught the basic mathematical skills. Biology The three ddferent Biology classes of- fered this year were Regular Biology, BSCS, and AJ? Biology. Regular Biology was taken mostly by sophomores. They studied dhfferent forms of We ranging from the simple amoeba to the complex human being. They also dis- sected various small life forms. BSCS was a course ojfered to those students who were looking for a chal- lenge. Their study of Biology was more indepth. A.R Biology was offered to those stu- dents who are interested in a medically related field. They dissected animals, also. These courses better prepared the stu- dents for the biological courses they may take in college. 3 l...
