STATE CHAMPS “We’ve Got Your Daddy” was the cheer that sounded throughout Elon College Gymnasium as the Lady Tro- jans battled for a three point victory over Louisburg High School to capture the Girls’ State 2-A Title. Ending the season with a 28-1 record, these girls received ample reward for their hard work. The only loss of the season came when they lost to East Lincoln. Coached by Mr. Mike Matheson, the girls won the Regular Season Con- ference, the Conference Tournament, the District Tournament, and the Regional Tournament before winning the State Title. Standouts on the team were Beverly Greenard, Janet Deal, Kim Gabriel, Robin Campbell, and Lisa Martin. 28

J.V. BOYS’ BASKETBALL The boys’ junior varsity basket- ball team looked strong this year under the direction of Coach Bobby Lutz. Although they didn’t win every game, they showed strength and spirit on the court. The experience they gained should help them in future years as basketball players.
