J.V. Football This past year’s record was a bit deceiving. Ending the season with a 1-7 record, the J.V. Trojans gained much experience in their close losses. This experience should help as they mature into varsity-caliber players. Several of the games were lost in the last quarter. The only win was over arch-rival Maiden Blue Devils. Outstanding performances were shown by Pat Plunkett and Roger McClain, who won Most Valuable Player and the Gary Butler Award, respectively. 22

Girls’ Tennis Undefeated Again The Girls’ Tennis Team vir- tually repeated last year’s season. Once again they ended the season with an (8-0) record. They also won the Conference Tournament, where Robin Campbell won first place in singles competition, and Janet Deal won second place. The team then went to the Sectional Tournament. Here, as a doubles team, Janet Deal and Robin Campbell won second place. These two girls advanced to state. Although they didn’t win, it was an honor to have gone that far in the competition. •-a— ' 24
