The Business Field Is One Of Opportunity The business department offered many courses for students who wished to prepare themselves for careers in business. These courses included typing, shorthand, business law, business management, data processing, and accounting. Typing was a popular course because of its usefulness during college and after school. Shorthand provides training for future secretaries; business law and business management taught students things they would need to know if they ever opened their own businesses, while date processing and accounting gave preliminary training for jobs in these fields. The Future Secretaries Association, gave its students a chance to gain a greater knowledge of how the business com- munity operated. They invited several speakers to talk to them about various subjects of interest. They also held their an- nual Womanless Beauty Pageant last spring. In this unusual event, boys dressed as women were the contestants and their escorts were girls dressed as men. The contest was great fun and as were all FSA activities, enjoyed by all who par- ticipated.
