A Victorious Homecoming The night of October 22, 1976, was cold and windy. But this did not dampen the spirits of the Trojan fans or its football team. For the night was unique; it was Home- coming. Anxiety and anticipation were evident on each individual's face. The first half saw our Trojans jump out to a 13-6 lead with the essence of victory in the air. But everyone knew the second half was left to be played and Gamewell had a fine team. The half ended and the Homecoming proceeding began. The band got into position for the time had come. “The 1976 Bandys Homecoming Queen is Miss Jo Eddie Mc- Combs. The bubble had burst and an outbreak of ap- plause, laughter, and cheering filled the stadium. The excitement of the crowd slowly diminished, but other yells returned as the Trojan team came out on the field more determined and fired-up than ever. But even with this, they fell behind 18-13 with time running out in the final period. Would the night of uniqueness end with the disappointment of defeat? No, the Trojan team sus- tained a drive that covered 89 yards, scored in the final two minutes, and gave the Trojans a 19-18 victory. As if in a fairy tale, the enchantment of the evening continued with Earthchild displaying a fine perfor- mance. A Sponsored Court; left to right.
