“
Our school days are almost finished; Our race is nearly run, But our place in life, they tell us, Has really just begun. Our hopes soar high for tomorrow; Our life is yet to live; We hold our slogans in our hands, The best to life we'll give. To our parents, teachers, classmates; Schoolmates and friends, we say, Thanks for all you have done for us, In home and class each day. Farewell to all our high school days; Farewell to Bandys High; For now the clock is ticking fast, And soon we'll say good-bye. Although it grieves our hearts to go, And some of us may cry; Your memories will remain with us; Through the years AS TIME GOES BY. NINETEEN HUNDRED RND SIXTY • THREE 5 05 g n m ££0 00 U - oa U) Z 1 n 72 O r H S3 Bandys High we love thee; And will always cherish The days we spent inside thy walls, The happy moments our hearts recall We will not forget thee; Tho far away we may be When we can, we'll return to Bandys High. Thy name, thy fame, Thy teachers through the years, We will always cherish And not forsake them, When we can, we'll return to Bandys High. ALMA MATER FOREWORD When God created man he placed him higher than any other creature on earth by giving him the glorious ability to relive the past through the miracle of memory. We the annual staff have attempted to record for you some of the happy memories of this past year at Bandys High. As you view these pictures, we hope they will help you to relive the year with true joy and happiness. We have worked diligently in the attempt to produce an annual which will be suitable. We are sure there will be mis- takes; but as you see them, will you not remember the old proverb, It is better to light one candle than to curse the darkness. ? Through many hours of pleasant toil, we the editors, along with the Staff have tried to bring back a few of these memories. We want to thank all the teachers and students who have contributed their help in making the'63 Trojan. But, most of all, we want to thank you, the students, for showing your interest by purchasing an annual. Editor: Judy Cranford Photography Editors: Rebecca McRee Shirley Huffman Literary Editor: Frankie Connor 5 Growing youngsters need lots of exercise SCIENCE The Science Department endeavors to stimulate thought, to develop the scientific attitude, and to encourage experimentation. It inspires students to seek careers in the lucrative field of scientific endeavor, and to gain an under- standing of the part that science plays in our modern world. 8 Is R.C. finding twelfth grade English difficult? LANGUAGE C'est la vie! WE DEDICA TE: We, the Seniors of 1963, dedicate this edition of the Trojan To Mr. Everette Caldwell, Who has worked cheerfully and untiringly with all students Who with an upward gaze has guided our activities Who by his ready smile and his friendly words has shown himself to be a true friend. 12 In Grateful RECOGNITION Mr. W.L. Now as we say farewell, To dear old Bandys High School We hope the class of '64, Will always love you as we do. Yet, down life's lonely road, We shall recall this night anew. The boys selected to attend Boys State are con- sidered by the American Legion to be best all around in the Senior Class. While at Boys' State, we attended lectures on the functions of state government. From these lectures we learned of the complexity of the state government and learned also how to appreciate the services which the officials are rendering to our state government. 90 FOOTBALL Franklin Huffman, Steve Campbell, Tommy Pope, Danny Laney, Lanny Christenbury, Pat Wimberly, Floyd Drum Jr., Lanny Parker, Steve McGee, Rodney Ewing, Bobby Pope, Don Rudisell, Tony Moore, Leon Clark, Allen Arndt, Benny Lytton, Claude Ballard, Ronnie Eades, Mack Me- Caslin,Steve McRee,Tommy Williams, Allen McRee, C.B.
