Class History Twelve years ago, in the year 1943, a large number of bright-eyed youngsters began their long awaited journey through school. Part of these students entered Balls Creek and the others entered Sherrill’s Ford School. We could not look into the years before us and see the friends we were to gain; the few we were to lose; the joys and sorrows we would share. At first we were a little shy and timid, but soon we learned that school could be much fun. We soon began to make new friends and to have the feeling of unity. For this one fact we were proud--that we were a group of individuals working together as one. We eased along in those grade years with little thought of tomorrow--and then came 1951, and we entered our freshman year in high school. These next four years were to be our happiest ones. .1 ■ M Twenty-three eager freshmen began at Sherrill’s Ford and sixty-five at Balls Creek. Every member of those freshmen classes was eager to learn the joys of high school. The first few weeks of high school, we wandered around slowly, trying to adapt our- selves to our new school life. We were not accustomed to changing classes and having different teachers for the different subjects. We liked this very much. As we entered Che sophomore class, we realized that our goal was closer, and to at- tain our goal we must work harder. Several members of our classes were tapped for the Beta Club. We also had students represented on the basketball teams and in different activities. :V; Then in 1953, we entered the junior class. We felt just a little more important and held our heads higher as we planned our class plays and banquets. “Faith, Hope, and Flaritv” was presented at Sherrill's Ford and the Balls Creek play was entitled, “The Eager Miss Beaver. These plays were a big success. At both schools a bond of unity had grown between the students and we were like big happy families.
