Mohl L. Peterson J. Gardes The Freshmen started out the year boldly, surviving their year as rookies of BHS. We got things started off with our Class Project of picking up com, which was very successful. We elected class officers as follows: Ben K.—President, Duane S. --Vice President, Craig G.--Secretary-Treasurer, and Chris S.—News Reporter. Representatives to Student Council were Pam B. and Dan A., and Homecoming attendants were Laurie M. and Ben K. Bring The Sophomores started off the school year with the excitement of initiating the Freshmen class. We also sponsored the Falentine's Dance. Another special activity of the year was Homecoming. Diane Marr and Tim Wegner represented our class as attendants. Kevin Mackey, Diane Marr, Mary Sim, and Michael Beutler were elected this year to be our class officers. Janice Russman, our fierce President, lead us through many nerve-wracking experiences. To name a few Homecoming, Prom, and class projects. Tami Doht, Vice President, Randy Mackey, Secretary, and Lori Lotz, Treasurer, also helped to lead our class through the trials and tribulations of the year. Ned Kjeldgaard and Sandy Burhoop represented our class on the Student Council while Lori Lotz and Tom Lutjen were our homecoming attendants. We are proud to have Lori and Randy for Girl and Boy staters and Peggy and Mark as alternates. Life is full of things that are hard to accept and Chuck leaving us was one. Although Chuck is gone the memory of him and all the good times will always be with us all. 20 Homecoming began with Spirit Week, all classes participated in different activities throughout the week. The Most Spirited Class plaque was presented to the mighty Seniors for their never ending pep! After the pep rally downtown the high school gathered at the park for the traditional bon fire and burning of the dummy which represented the challenging team, Homer. All of the people in this picture helped win the trophy and we are proud of them! Superior ratings were won at the conference contest by Thresa, Bill, Terri, Diane, and Janice. At the District contest at Wayne Rosemary and Thresa won superior ratings and went on with Mrs. Schilling to the state contest at Kearney where they had a blast. 48 Mrs. Carey— and they lived happily ever after.
