History of The Class of 1960 Early one September morning, 16 students climbed aboard the Bancroft Elementary space ship. As they were seated, roll call was taken. Those sounding off were: Arlen Bargmann, Gary Bargmann,James Buchholz, Kathy Copple, Warren Elsasser, Harold Hermelbracht, David Hughes, Kayleen Kessinger, Lanny Leifert, Judy Miller, Stanley Molvig Beverly Neel, Charles Ronnenkamp, Donald Sorensen, and Mary Lou Terry. As the second year rolled by Lanny Leifert, Kathy Copple, and Stanley Molvig returned to earth. This left 13 of the young spacemen. In the third light year of travel Judy Miller left for home; and in the fourth year Mary Lou Terry did likewise. During the fourth year our crew was joined by Frank Anderson, a boy floating in space. During the fifth year of our journey Beverly Neel departed on a space ship of her own. This left Kayleen Kessinger as the only girl passenger. Passing by on a moonbeam and captured by our crew were: Norman Kraemer, Ervin Dixon, and Wayne Nottleman. They soon were a welcome addition to our crew. Ruth Semrau joined the space travelers during the sixth year as we landed for a short stay on Mars. Donald Sorensen, David Hughes, and Norman Kraemer left our ship here. As the seventh year rolled around, our crew became smaller as Ervin Dixon and Wayne Nottleman left us to explore around the universe on their own initiative. In our eighth year of travel Judy and Joyce Van Berg joined our crew as the first space twins of the class of 60. We returned to earth during the summer of 1956 to change space ships and pick up additional passengers. We boarded the Bancroft High School space ship and recruited the following members of new crew: Delwyn Daberkow, Wayne Nottleman, Ronald Gatzemeyer, Ervin Dixon, Dennis Nelson, Stanley Schleusener, Donald Nelson, Ronald Johnson, Dennis Jeppson, Merlin Paulsen, David Burhoop, Bill Block, Sandy Katrous, and Ruth Semrau. Larry Pearson jumped ship and signed on as a crew member of another space ship. Journeying into the tenth year Sandy Katrous and Judy and Joyce Van Berg returned to earth, leaving Ruth Semrau and Kayleen Kessinger as the only girls aboard the B.H.S. space ship. Stanley Molvig and Stanley Sorensen joined our crew during the eleventh year of our journey. In our twelfth and last year of adventure together Bill Block, Stanley Molvig, Donald Nelson, and Stanley Schleusener left our crew. These members of tne crew are the graduating class of 1960: Arlen Bargmann, Gary Bargmann, David Burhoop, Delwyn Daberkow, Ervin Dixon, Warren Elsasser Ronald Gatzemeyer, Harold Hermelbracht, Dennis Tpopson, Konald Johnsoni, Kayleen Kessinger, Dennis Nelson, Wayne Nottleman, Merlin Paulsen, Charles Ronnerkamp, Ruth Semrau, and Stanley Sorensen. Senior Class Prophecy Down By The Station Early One Morning I was boarding a train when I noticed Harold H. was the station manager. I began talking to him and he told me that The Farmer In The Dell (Delwyn D.) lived nearby and was raising prize hogs. I also learned that in the nearby town of Charley Brown ; Arlan B. was coaching the basketball team. Later as we traveled down the tracks our train hit the rear end of a Hot Rod which was driven by Merlin P. At our next stop the first thing I noticed was a large clothing store displaying a Black Slacks sign on its front. Since I needed a new suit I entered the store. After the sales clerk had shown me several suits I decided upon a black one. Just as I was leaving the store I met a distinguished looking gentleman at the door; and who should it be but Mr. Black Slacks himself Dennis J. I later learned that he was the manager of the store. I then got a hotel room and as I was watching TV that evening in the lounge a basketball game came on. A tall thin player by the name of Dennis N. was high point man with 46 points. This, being a very common name, I thought nothing of it until it was announced he would be interviewed after he had showered. I decided to watch and discovered it was the Dennis N. from Bancroft High and he was still singing Sandy . Early the next morning I went to the airport since I was to continue my trip by plane. I was seated next to an Air Force jet jocky who was reading a paper. After we were off the ground he put his paper away and who should it be Mr. I've Got Stripes (Warren E.). I borrowed his paper and as I read through it I came to an article which stated there were only eight millionaires in Nebraska. Gary B. was one who had made his first million raising mink and was noted for singing Well If I Had A Nickel. Ron G. was another who had made the mark by building special high speed racing motors for the Little Nash Rambler, and he had also figured out a way to get around paying income tax on all his money. There was also an advertisement in the paper for Bird Dogs. Later I learned that Ronnie J. was training and selling these dogs. He was better known as the Hound Dog Man. At my next stop I saw a neat chick in Short Shorts walking down the street, and later recognized her as Kayleen K. well known in the rodeo world. I then decided to go to Mexico where I found Wayne N. singing in the Tia Juana Jail. Later in California I ran into David B. still protesting I Ain't Sharin Sharon. Moving on to see more people I ran into Ervin D. on a street corner Watching All The Girls Go By. Several days later I found Stan Sor. in a coal mine in Pittsburgh trying to load Sixteen Ton with a sand shovel. Next in Hollywood I saw Ruth S. who was In The Mood for acting. Back home again I found a very happy Charles R. singing Lipstick On My -Collar. Stanley S., the Man Who Never Returned can be found on his dairy and bee farm in Wisconsin.
