History of The Class of 1960 Early one September morning, 16 students climbed aboard the Bancroft Elementary space ship. As they were seated, roll call was taken. Those sounding off were: Arlen Bargmann, Gary Bargmann,James Buchholz, Kathy Copple, Warren Elsasser, Harold Hermelbracht, David Hughes, Kayleen Kessinger, Lanny Leifert, Judy Miller, Stanley Molvig Beverly Neel, Charles Ronnenkamp, Donald Sorensen, and Mary Lou Terry. As the second year rolled by Lanny Leifert, Kathy Copple, and Stanley Molvig returned to earth. This left 13 of the young spacemen. In the third light year of travel Judy Miller left for home; and in the fourth year Mary Lou Terry did likewise. During the fourth year our crew was joined by Frank Anderson, a boy floating in space. During the fifth year of our journey Beverly Neel departed on a space ship of her own. This left Kayleen Kessinger as the only girl passenger. Passing by on a moonbeam and captured by our crew were: Norman Kraemer, Ervin Dixon, and Wayne Nottleman. They soon were a welcome addition to our crew. Ruth Semrau joined the space travelers during the sixth year as we landed for a short stay on Mars. Donald Sorensen, David Hughes, and Norman Kraemer left our ship here. As the seventh year rolled around, our crew became smaller as Ervin Dixon and Wayne Nottleman left us to explore around the universe on their own initiative. In our eighth year of travel Judy and Joyce Van Berg joined our crew as the first space twins of the class of 60. We returned to earth during the summer of 1956 to change space ships and pick up additional passengers. We boarded the Bancroft High School space ship and recruited the following members of new crew: Delwyn Daberkow, Wayne Nottleman, Ronald Gatzemeyer, Ervin Dixon, Dennis Nelson, Stanley Schleusener, Donald Nelson, Ronald Johnson, Dennis Jeppson, Merlin Paulsen, David Burhoop, Bill Block, Sandy Katrous, and Ruth Semrau. Larry Pearson jumped ship and signed on as a crew member of another space ship. Journeying into the tenth year Sandy Katrous and Judy and Joyce Van Berg returned to earth, leaving Ruth Semrau and Kayleen Kessinger as the only girls aboard the B.H.S. space ship. Stanley Molvig and Stanley Sorensen joined our crew during the eleventh year of our journey. In our twelfth and last year of adventure together Bill Block, Stanley Molvig, Donald Nelson, and Stanley Schleusener left our crew. These members of tne crew are the graduating class of 1960: Arlen Bargmann, Gary Bargmann, David Burhoop, Delwyn Daberkow, Ervin Dixon, Warren Elsasser Ronald Gatzemeyer, Harold Hermelbracht, Dennis Tpopson, Konald Johnsoni, Kayleen Kessinger, Dennis Nelson, Wayne Nottleman, Merlin Paulsen, Charles Ronnerkamp, Ruth Semrau, and Stanley Sorensen.
