JUNKHIBASKETBALL.CHEERLEADERS COLOR DAY 1959 The thirteenth annual Color Day was held in B.H C on Friday evaung, Febniary 20 Mr Fredrickson introduced the President of the Pq: Club Miss Earlene Dixon, who gave a few remarks about the happenings of the day and reviewed the past Kings and Queens that reigned over past Color Days in Bancroft High. Then, Just as the lights were lowered Miss Joan Heise, treasurer of the Pq: Club opened the hoop that lud the attendants and the procession began. The piano was played by Miss Glenda Gatrost. The first couple to step out were the tiny crown bearers Nancy Neel and Dudley Ronnenkamp The crown bearers were from the Kindergarten Class and wore a white dress and suit. Each had a pink carnation corsage. Next came two Pep Club officers, carrymggtfts and flowers Helen Ander son Vice President andBonn.tePaulsa1 Secretary Helen wore a white ballerina formal and a pink camauon cor sage. Bonnie wore a blue ballerina formal and a white carnation corsage. The first attendants to step throuyt the curtain were Miss Rose Dittberner who wore a nile green ballerma length fommal and a whlte carnation corsage, and Ronnie Soenksen who wore a hyat grey suit with a white carnauon boutonruere. Sophomore attendants were Miss Sharon Raasch dressed in a ballerina length red and white formal w1t.h a corsage of white camations and Charles Kai who wore a pale blue suit and a white carnation boutonruere. Miss Kayleen Kesslnger and Den nls Jeppson were chosen to represent the Junior class Kayleen Kesslnger wore a pretty green and white floor length formal with a pink carnation corsage, and Dennis wore a light blue suit and a white carnation boutonniere. The first senior oouple was Miss Karen Bargmann, who wore a beautiful powder blue floor length formal, and Gary Slmonsen who wore a light suit with a white car nation boutonniere. Miss Helene Lase who wore a lovely salmon ballerina length formal, and Ronnie Raasch wore a dark stut with a white carnation boutonniere. The last to be spot lighted in the procession were Charles Gleeson King of 58 who wore a dark stu: and a white carnauon boutonruere and Miss Loretta Neel attendant to the Queen of 58 wore a white floor length formal anda pink camation corsage. Whm all these people were in their places, the lights were raised and the big surprise came. Last year's King and Attendant Charles Gleeson and Loretta Neel, came forward to announce the King and Queen of 1959 whose names were in sealed envelopes inside the crowns, and placed the crowns on their heads. Then came the cli- max of t.he evening, and Miss Karen Bargmann and Gary Slmonsen were crowned King and Queen. The crowns were of beautiful white velvet with sequin decorations. The Pep Club President Miss Earlene Dixon, then presented the corsages to the Queen and to her attend- ant. The Garden Club of Bancroft gave a large white orchid to the Queen, and the attendant was given a white camation corsage. The gifts were also passed out at this time. The girls received rhinestone necklaces and the boys received cuff links each gift being a Little different. The Queen, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Louis Bargmann received a gold compact and the King, son of Mrs. E1- verna Simorsen, received a set of matching cuff links and tie clasp The Royalty took their place on the throne, which was decorated as winter wonderLand There they reigned the rest of the evening while the Bulldog team brought on a victory over Lyons Score: 71-40.
