SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY In June of 1966, I Carolyn Bettenhausen was sent on a business trip by TWA and decided to mix pleasure with business. I boarded a plane for Omaha. Near Denver we developed engine trouble and landed . The man who fixed the engine turned out to be none other than Tom Fredrickson. It seems he does very little work but seems to have plenty of helpers. While waiting for the plane, I decided to go shopping and ran into Judy Bray. She finally secured the position as secretary to the Governor of Colorado. From there I flew to Wyoming where John Hermelbracht has his BHS Ranch. He told us that Howard Petersen has a dairy farm in Wisconsin where he produces holeless cheese. From Wyoming I flew to Omaha where Kathryn Mielke and Shirley Bassett have a successful reducing and beauty salon. There's only one thing wrong------it's for men only. From Omaha I came to Bancroft and discovered Larry Bargmann. He’s managing the Bargmann Trucking Firm which makes runs from coast to coast. Nina Bargmann, home on vacation, told me she was a secretary to Dr. Spock, a noted pediatrician. Nina told me that Julie Gatze-meyer was working in Hawaii with her uncle. Julie hopes to become a professional hula dancer. While visiting my parents in Bancroft I turned on the TV in time to see David Gatzemeyer knock out his opponent. Dave had just won the Middleweight Boxing Championship. While browsing around one day downtown, I was told that Glen Zobel had a big farm west of Bancroft. He raises Black Angus and Here-fords. He married a home town girl and is raising quite a few children too. Leaving Bancroft, I headed for Kansas City. There I ran into Merlyn Jacobsen who had become the President of the Federal Reserve Bank located there. While in Kansas City I received an invitation to visit a cotton plantation. After I got there I found out Mervin Haase was the owner. He took me on a tour through the Ozark Mountains. As we walked along an old crooked cow path, we came upon an old broken down shack. On the porch sat Lois Munderloh and Caryl Oberhelmann with their husbands. They told me they had moved there to get away from it all. After this experience I started for New York and got on the wrong plane. I landed in Houston, Texas. There I found Carole Brehmer who was a dancing teacher for Arthur Murray. It seems her favorite pastime is collecting oilwells. From Texas, I went to Washington D. C., where Margaret Geisler and B. J. were honeymooning. They didn't say much, they just looked at each other and laughed. From Washington, D.C. I flew on to New York. On the plane I picked up a paper and saw a picture of George Grone on the front page. He's carrying on Einstein's work and is working on a new theory on the workings of a woman’s mind. In New York I was greeted by Ar-dith Sorenson. She is Perry Como's secretary and is hoping she'll be as lucky as the one who married Julius LaRosa. This I believe to be the prophecy of the CLASS OF 1-956.
