Subscribed, sealed, published, and declared by the Senior Class of Bancroft High School, in the state of Nebraska. We have made this will in the presence of witnesses and do full authorize our Class lYesident’s signature. History In the fall of 1950, the seniors of 1954 started school with eleven girls and eleven boys. During our four years of high school, we have lost four members of our class. They arc Kay Luedke, Judy Grimm, Donald Luedert, and Wayne Mielke. The class officers were as follows: President, Eugene Nottleman; Vice President, Eva June Block; Secretary-Treas-irer, Anita Bray. One of our Senior girls was a cheerleader. She is Myra Hermelbracht. All of the girls in the Senior class took part in girls athletics and pep club. Members of the class that were in band are, Diane Vogt, Myra Hermelbracht, Sylvia Konopik, Marie Geisler, and Claudette Eby. The Senior boys out for football were: James Gatzemeyer and Eugene Nottlcman. Out for basketball this year are Norman Mackey, Charles Buchholz, James Gatzemeyer, and Bruce Neel. James Gatzemeyer and Norman Mackoy went out for track. The student body elected Eugene Nottleman and Myra Hermelbracht as King and Queen of Color Day. Harlan Russ-man and Diane Vogt were attendants. We, the Senior class chose as oir colors, blue and white; as our flower, gardenia; as our motto. Non est vivere est valere vita. (Not merely to exist, but to amount to something in life.) WITT MOTOR CO. GUY AND MARGARETS CAFE MORGAN'S TAVERN Senior Class Prophecy ll was September in I lie year of I'XVf. Hebert Itaascli was boa riling a I ft A in Chicago, Illinois. lie was beginning another of bis many business excursions for International Harvester Company. lioberl had just been shown to his seal when he saw that Myra llermclbracht was the stewardess, ll wasn’t long until Myra recognized her old classmate Hubert and they began discussing the other 195t graduates. I'roiu dyra lie learned that Diane Vogt had joined the ft A MS:; with them she has traveled quite extensively throughout Lurope. Her good friend Marie Ceisler is secretary to the president of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in New ork. It seemed only a short time anil the plane had made its first landing at San Lrancisco, California, where we found another classmate, nila llray. She is now residing at the Droad-inonr Hotel. It was here he saw Mary Hotelier singing with Kddie Lischer. They have made a number of records together, llcilda Hopper wonders if they have anything else in common besides music. Also in the entertainment field we find a well-known comedian, Charles Duchholz, and his line of chorus girls. The famed talent scout, James Gatzemeyer discovered Charles anil his girls. They now have a show of their own on C.D.S. TV. Next stop was Phoenix, Arizona. It was here that Hobcrl decided to take in a real rodeo. While he was waiting for the thrills to begin he noticed on his program, the name of Harlan Hussman. As lie read on further lie found that Harlan is a bronc rider with five years of thrilling experience. After the rodeo Hubert had a little talk with his old classmate. Harlan tells us that it was while riding in a rodeo in Denver, Colorado he met Drucc Neel, lie also informed us that Dmce has become an electronics engineer for General Klectric. As Hubert boarded the train in Phoenix, he knocked a briefcase from the hand of a very distinguished looking gentleman. This gentleman was none other than Mr. Gene Mackey, Secretary of Agriculture. Gene is louring the Midwest inspecting a drought area. His first slop will be the Clover Leaf Hunch near Dallas, Texas. This 75,000 acre ranch is owned by the wealthy Norman Mackey. It seems Norman s crops have been suffering severe damage, from lack of rain. Hubert, being this close to INcbrusku decided to come back to Dancrofl. He finds thut after graduating, Sylvia konopik attended the Diversity of Nebraska where she majored in foreign language. Lor the past three years she has been teaching in Switzerland as an exchange teacher. She is corresponding with Claudette Lby, who has not traveled quite so far from home. She is an X-ray technician at Mayo’s clinic in Hochestcr, Minnesota. We also find some one else who decided not to stray far from home. I'iva June Dlock is now murried to Lester Wegner, Les and June with their three future football stars, are living on a farm near Bancroft. June informs us thut Kvelyn Peterson is now employed by Geneli’s Studio so she cun be near Merle and his work. HichanI Dargmann has bought the Marvin Hloomcr mink farm three miles southwest of Becmer, Nebraska; Hichard and his family are now living very happily on his million dollur a year income. Lrom him we learn that Lugenc Nottlcman is residing on his 3,0(X) ucre dairy farm in western Wisconsin, quietly awaiting Diane’s return. Hobert has found this trip to be one of his most pleasant business trips lie bus ever made and would like to go on, but because of urgent business he has been called buck to Chicago and is leaving immediately.
