Hawaiian lsle of Dreams was the theme for the Jr.-Sr. Prom held on May 11, 1961. The gym was decorated with red and gold crepe paper and palm trees. A little, brown hut for the band and a small pond in the center of the gym added to the colorful decorations. A large mural fpainted by several students under the direction and with the help of Mrs. Melvin Wise many also added much beauty to the decora- tions. Karen Ebken and Linda Wiseman, dressed in Hawaiian muu-muus, placed leis on the girls when entering the Hawaiian paradise. The boys received small tom-toms as favors for the evening. The meal was served in the style of a Hawaiian Luau. Several main courses with all the trimmings were provided for those who attended the Prom. Lyn Symons and his band played dreamy music to dance by later that evening.
