e IDYLLS Standing Coach Scheetz Gerber Lmt Eckert H Regula Swihart Burger student manager Friend trainer Seated Eiler McQueen Lower R Regula Lahm BASKETBALL The 1935 basketball season opened with great prospects A good mayority of the 1934 team came back and some new experienced material was added We fought hard and let the teams in the near by counties know we were on the map by winning f1V8 out of seven non league games however we stood seventh in our county league games in the county tournament we drew one of the strongest teams 1n the county Bolivar this years tournament champion We held Bolivar to a close s ore at the beginning of the game but seemed hopelessly outs oiccl at the half 9 34 Returning for the second half we played cored them 10 6 and again in the last quarter 11 10 Due to our slow st rt we X eie defeated 50 30 W e entered the contest with Mineral City in high hopes of xictory At the half the score was 8 5 in our favor but luck seemed to desert is duilng the latter half of the game Most of our shots were heart Lreal ing rolling around the rim and then out The game ended 14 22 Wlireral City s game The Eagles hope to make a better showing next year We think we can since we lose only two lettermen D 2 I 7 O 7 I 1 3 ' 7 V 1 7 9 , 4 : ' 3 7 3 ' Y ' 5 , ' - - .
