As a captain we had Rose Hager, who managed our crew of nine members. The crew consisted of scholars who became lost and deeply absorbed in the storms of Math. English, German and World History. One month passes still leaving us on rough sea although the going seemed fair. One day our lookout spied a superior ship coming toward us. This ship was manned by the Seniors of 1953, who carried a cargo of rules which initiated us into high divi- sions of Knowledge and made us expert members of the convoy leading to success. The rules: hideous make -up on faces, outlandish dresses and costumesg hard manual labor, carrying books for the Seniors and homage penalties. In this event the Seniors scored, but we didn't stay down. Time passed quickly and we made hurdles over the 70 mark in January, our first encounter with a real battle. We hope for the same results this semester and so we are a little sad because we shall be Sophomores by the end of May 31. ZZ

J- J!!vf. . l Quinn D 1' amati c s THE GYPSY TROUBADOUR Among the opportunities offered, and one which is eagerly taken advantage of by a large and enthusiastic group of students, is the participation in the annual play given for the public. The members of the High School were heard in two public recitals in November to a well filled hall. The cast deserved much praise for their work in THE GYPSY TROUBADOURH as well as preparing the scenery and stage prrnerties. The entire school participates in the play or else supplies extra numbers. In May, the entire school will again entertain their parents and friends with dances, songs and short plays at an Open House Day . At this time there will be a special display of their school work, arts and crafts. 24
