E 3 5 r YU I Hall we do have CLASS . . . we can hold our heads up high. At a Conference of In- dependent Schools which I attended recently, the topic of evaluation dominated the programme. One expert from the National Association of Independent Schools QUSAQ made this observation . . . You can tell how well a school is functioning as soon as you walk along the corridors . . . if the vibes are right and you have a good feeling about the place, rest assured all is well. I know Christmas 1984 qLeftl Fall Barbeque 1985 IBelowl , -we -sc, this is true of Balmoral Hall and many, many visitors have made such a comment. There is a happy, trusting environment and a sense of co-operation. This is what sets the school apart:THlSlSCLASS! I know that I am leaving a school in good shape, and I have that personal satisfaction of a job well done. I shall miss the daily round of dealing with the various factions that make up the school family and I hope that my successor will have as much pride in the fs. A school as I have had over the years. It is not hard to get to love the halls of Balmoral and l leave you with this final word The secret of success is work! Don't let yourselves down . . . for we pass this way but once. Bless you all, Sincerely yours, I Nl ASIA. N. THOMAS RUSSELL
