Yearbook Staff Editor-in-Chief: Kathleen Scribner Michele Shaw Susan Briercliffe Punam Nath Peggy Hickin Pamela Gill Tracy Kohut Editor's Message We have finally come to the end of the 76-77 school year, for some this has been their last year and for others only the beginning, but we must all agree that 76-77 in Balmoral Hall has been a very good year. This year was a year for trying out new things, such as the swim meet lwhich was a huge successi open campus for the grades twelves lwhich made us work hard to keep theml and many other events. There is not too much that I call tell you that the yearbook cannot show you. l will say one thing, this is my chance to say good-bye to a really great school. l've learned a lot in my two short years at the school, l've learned not just in the classroom but in Res and all around the school, l've learned a lot about people, that to me is one thing that I will always remember this school for, its people. I'm going to miss everyone and I would like to wish each and everyone of you all the luck and love the world may give you. Bye B.H.! Love Kathleen Scribner Editor-In-Chief 3

A , Headmaster's Message to the Grads of 1977 Life is like a book . . .a book divided into a number of chapters. Today in graduating from High School you end a particular chapter and move on to the next . . . YOUR SCHOOL EDUCATION CHAPTER IS OVER. It has been said that school days are the happiest days: the happiest days of your life . I do not know whether or not this will prove to be the case for each of you. I do know for certain that you have had many hap- py days and many pleasant days, many successful days, many disappointing days . . . but, whatever these may be, I know also that you will take away with you many fond memories. For some of you seated here in front of me these memories will be from a good many years spent at Balmoral Hall: B.H., your school. You will never forget this school. Whether you have been here for one year or for twelve years, you will never forget the dramatic, traumatic, sad, funny and very special times you have experienced. DON'T FORGET THEM. FOR THEY ARE TREASURES INDEED AND PARAGRAPHS IN WHAT WILL PROVE TO BE ONE OF THE MOST EXCITING CHAPTERS OF YOUR LIFE. In moving to the next chapter of your life, you move into a time when you will become more and more responsible for making decisions for yourselves. I ad- vise you, I urge you to think things through weigh the advantages with the disadvantages, the pros with the cons, and may your judgement be wise and good. The late Robert Frost lan American poetl wrote . . . Two roads diverged in a yellow wood And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveller. Long I stood . . . And looked down one as far as I could THEN TOOK THE OTHER. When you come to the roads that diverge , may you choose the right one for you. What better final message can l give to you than the words of advice the mother superior gives to the novice nun Maria lin the film The Sound of Musicl as Maria is leaving the shelter of the monastry . . .to tackle a job in the big world outside: Climb every mountain, ford every stream, follow every by-way, till you find your dream. Remember us ... we will remember you ... Good luck and may God bless you. '- wsu... W-Q ' . F 1.12.-is , , M . . . gaffvn ah
