Since then, the staff has worked throughout the summer, taking pictures, getting money from local businesses, and designing the general layout for this year's book. Many hours were spent each day to meet all of our deadlines, even though the yearbook office seemed, by most passers by, to be a study hall. Yes! We actually did work in there. A lot of new ideas were tried in this yearbook and we hope that you like them. A huge 'Thank You to Mrs. 1 and Pidge, our advisors, and the one and only Gordie, our Jostens rep! Tt 77 ecrtf? Elsa Rattoray, a 15 year-old junior, is an A.S.S.E. sponsored Exchange Student. Her home is in the foothills of the French Alps, in a small village fifteen minutes from the Swiss border. The climate there is similar to Ballston Spa's, so the winter snow was not a new experience for her. She arrived in America in August, and although she has travelled widely before, this is her first visit to the U.S. During her stay here, Elsa is hoping to see more of the country that to her is just so wonderful and different! , and is already planning to return next Christmas! Elsa is very outgoing, and has been involved in many extracurricular activities, including the Troupe, newspaper, and magazine. She has experienced some homesickness, but despite this, feels she doesn't write home enough. What free time she has is spent with friends or with her host family, the Andersons. She will be living with this family of five for the duration of her stay in America, until she returns to her native France. The welcome she received helped her to adjust, and she would like to thank everyone for making her stay in Ballston Spa so special and enjoyable. A senior at Ballston Spa this year, Franck Fournier is a 17 year-old Rotary Exchange Student. Arriving last August from his home in the South of France, he came to a climate much cooler than that he left behind. Consequently, one of the greatest adjustments he had to make was that concerning the weather, and more specifically, the winter snows! Ballston Spa is larger than his native town, which is much like a tourist resort. Franck is the youngest of three male children, and while here will be living with three host families. It is his first visit to the U.S., but he has decided that he is definitely coming back soon. He is also planning to travel around the country on the Summer Rotary Rour. Since arriving in Ballston Spa, Franck has experienced many aspects of life that are different to his native France. The students here are much more relaxed and friendly, with a very outgoing attitude towards life. Franck hopes one day to become a tennis teacher, but until then, he spends his spare time practicing the sport. About life in America, he states, I like the good fun and good times! . He is thankful to everyone for making this year so memorable. Vive la pronc€' THE CLUB Officers for 1987-1933 Eric Meier-President Mike Gianquitto-Acting Pres. Everyone was split into the Senate and the House of Representatives where the bills they created were presented and passed or failed. Our students faired quite well, passing one of the bills all the way to the joint session of both houses. It was a great learning experience and fun for all. PROJECT ADVENTURE Row 1: J. Green, J.
