In the Alma Mater of nearby Umon College there IS a phrase Wh1Ch has mtrlgued me for many years It speaks of a d1p from our Xlma Mater You can d1p deeply 1n a sprlng and get the cool 1nv1gorat1ng water or you can drmk from the top and get tep1d water and froth In school you can do much the same thmg You can dlp deeply and be challenged and 1nv1gor ated or you can take the easy way and sklm the surface You are facxng a long dusty and Sometlmes d1ff1cult tra1l ahead There are other sprmgs along the way such as h1gher educat1on rel1g1on and work experlence D1p deeply so that you w1ll be sustalned when the tra1l IS steep and no new sprmgs are at hand Those who Sklm the surface may make the grade but the path IS l1kely to seem rougher and the obstacles harder to over come To the semors I would express the hope that they have delved deeply 1nto the sprmg Wh1Ch has been at thexr feet for twelve years and that It w11l susta1n them well on the tr.u1 of l1fe ahead To those who st1ll have tlme before they embark on .1 new trall 1n l1fe Iwould say dlp deeply wh1le you can your Alma Mater IS a never fa1l1ng spr1ng wwf R C Tefft Prmclpal P Q I N., my WN K Y -F ft X X g 2 X 2 N I 5 h vu.. C - 7 l 7 . - . C1642 As the full impact of work and study hit us, we buckled down to a lowly existence in Senior High. It was quite a blow after having been accustomed to the spotlight, but we soon made the adjustments. Several of our budding Thespians were in the cast of Miss Ropke's terrific production, Junior Miss As Juniors we learned proper Parliamentary procedure and settled down to orderly class meetings. We staged an all-time spectacular in our prom, Penthouse in the Sky . Our nightclub and New York skyline, and of course, our gratitude, we owe to Mr. Rock. With the English regents over, the sum- mer was far too short for a real vacation, but we could not stop the calendar. The final year had arrived at last. The team got in a huddle with Mrs. Marino and our Senior Play, the lovable, laughable Jennie Kissed Me emerged. The girls invited the boys down to Room Six for a Christmas Party and it was a very successful event. We suggested various places to hold our Senior Ban- quet and then settled down to the serious business of our Washington trip. Mr. and Mrs. Murray consented to be our chaperones. Now, as the years we've spent together draw to a close, we are looking forward to our Roamin' Holi- day . Perhaps life will not be a holiday for some, others may not roam far-- but the experiences we have had together will provide many fond memories throughout the coming years. Pre-Roomin' Days 19 .,.
