Mrs. Marino directed our Senior play, which included not only directing but also countless other tasks, which made it a success. The profits, both financial and in enjoyment, were welcomed by the class. Mrs. MacWilliams helped us with our yearbook. Because it was such a big job, and so many problems came up, the whole class was very grateful for her help. We would like to pay tribute here to two fine people and thank them for their efforts. Mented Class Mist ory Junior class ring committee Junior prom committee chairmen Once the doors to the past are closed they can never be reopened, but let us take one more backward glance as the doors of the past four years swing shut. The first doors we encountered were those of our Ninth grade home rooms. Our class officers were Irid Gordon, President; Rosellen Stinson, Vice President; Ann Neville, Seere tary ; and Billy Snyder, Treasurer. Lucille Meshowski did a fine job as editor of the Reflector. On class day we gave humorous sketches and wore our class colors, green and white, for the first time. The next time these colors were displayed was in June when we were promoted to Senior High. As Sophomores, we were considered the lowest forms of animal life, and it is hard to tell which we loathed more, Seniors or geometry. However, we took part in the new activities with enthusiasm, and, led by the same class officers as in the Ninth Grade, we started to make our mark on Senior High. Our Junior officers were Larry Colburn, President; Irid Gordon, Vice President; Ann Neville,Secretary; and David Regis, Treasurer. The big event of the fall was choosing our class rings, which we think are the nicest ones we’ve seen. In the spring we had a very successful prom on the theme, Streets of Paris. Irid Gordon was general chairman, and Alexander Capasso, Daryl Griffin, Donald Stewart, and Rosellen Stinson were committee chairmen. As seniors, we look back with pride on the successes yj of the member of our class. In music Barbara Barnes, Daryl Griffin, Elizabeth Simmons, Robert Cooper, Eugene Cossey, Larry Colburn, Irid Gordon, and David Regis represented our school at All State Sectionals. Daryl Griffin attended the NYSSMA convention in Syracuse and sang in the All State High School Choir , an honor for our music department. Harris Beach, Dominic Capasso, and Joe Mulvaney took active part in athletics, and Alexander Capasso was manager of the basketball team. Rosellen Stinson and Ann Neville were cheerleaders. As captain, Rosellen has made this year's cheerleading squad one of the best. Barbara Barnes, Ann Neville, Rosellen Stinson , Harris Beach, and Larry Colburn lent their dramatic talents to many school plays, and Joseph Zepko worked on makeup. He also was indispensable as an artist on the prom and many other projects. Rosellen Stinson won the American Legion Oratorical Contest in 1950, and Alice Finch won it in 1951. Editor Larry Colburn and Joe Zepko renovated the Buzzer and changed its name to the Spa . Daryl Griffin was assistant editor, and Rosellen Stinson was business manager. Daryl Griffin was yearbook editor, and Joe Zepko and Eugene Anderson used their talents to help in the task. We are now looking forward to the trip to Washington during Easter vacation, the Senior Banquet, classday, and finally graduation, when Daryl Griffin will be valedictorian, and Rosellen Stinson will be sal uta tori an. •' ' The doors of the past are closed forever, never to open again, but many new doors lie open for us. Some will be doors to happiness, some to sorrow, but the members of the class of ’52 will try to choose the right ones, aided by the knowledge they have gained during the past four years in Ballston Spa High School. Larry Colburn in My Friend Irma The seniors will see this in Washington. Class Prophecy Looking ahead into the year 1965 we find Ballston Spa as capitol of New York State. Trillionaire banker STUART HODSOLL has restored the historical sites of this town. One of these sites is the San Souci Hotel, now the largest in the world. This hotel is managed by EARL BAKER and JOE MULVANEY. Their private secretaries are ALICE STURNESKI and NOREEN MacMILLIN, who have won fame as being the fastest typists in the world, and his chef is JAMES MURPHY. The Governor of New York is IRID GORDON. As we venture into the Governor’s Mansion we find him dis -cussing with ROSELLEN STINSON, the accomplishments of their classmates of Ballston Spa High School. Rosellen is none other than the first woman mayor of Ballston Spa. The first person they recall is LARRY COLBURN, now president of the United States. In president Colburn's latest State of the Union Message , the fact has been established that colored television is in its greatest demand. Since EUGENE ANDERSON is head man of this industry, he insists his leading lady, VERONICA FLINTON, former stenographer of actor ROBERT RUANE, the second Rudolph Valentino, marry ROBERT COOPER, the Caruso of television . for publicity purposes. JEAN, or now the famous Hedda CARPENTER of the television world, says in her latest gossip column that JOE ZEPKO, leading make - up man of T.V. has married the Duchess of Brooklyn, NOREEN VANYO. Noreen has had other beaux such as the Academy Award winner, actor DAVID REGIS; Middle Weight Boxing Champion. FRANK WILLIAMS; and GARY MARTIN, famous ex -plorer of Africa's deepest jungles. The famous actor CACTUS COSSEY has been noted as the most flashy western story teller of T.V. since Bronco Bill. Also, PINKY GRIFFIN was recently voted the best comedian on television. In the sports world we find DOMINICK CAPASSO as the greatest athlete of the year, winning awards in football, baseball and basketball. Speaking of basketball, we see that the five Kelly boys of Holy Cross are outstanding in this field. They are the sons of Dr. and Mrs. William Kelly, the latter being the former ANN NEVILLE. DONALD LLEWELLYN now manages the New York Yankees, who have just won their tenth series in a row. The wrestling world finds Women's Champion. MARY JANE ELIASON, re - cently winning the title from former champ, ANN HOYT. in the medical world, famous chemical technician, ALICE FINCH, of Cornell, has just completed a book on the works of the Professor of Dentistry. GEORGE KOLBE. He has discovered the newest method of drilling teeth. This method is.... first, removal of the tooth, second, drilling and filling it, and third, replacing the tooth. This prevents all the pain of drilling. The famous brain surgeon, CHARLES CULL, has just picked out the ten most outstanding people of the world physically and mentally. One of these is a great doctor of medicine, namely HARRIS BEACH. He has found the cure for the common cold. His brilliant nurse. NANCY BESANCENEY, assisted him in his discovery. Retired veterinarian. Dr. Hawks, the former DARYL GRIFFIN, is residing with her husband, Robert, on their Double X Horse Ranch in Kentucky. Their foreman is none other than MARJORIE HENNESSY. Their Arabian horse, Lady Luck , jockeyed by BILLY COON, has just won the Kentucky Derby. For other class accomplishments we see famous prison reformer, DONNA THOMPSON, has recently demanded the release by Governor Gordon of convicts, SHIRLEY EAGAR, No. 605341 and JOHN FALKENBURG, No. 108762 from Auburn Prison. They were imprisoned for thirty yean for being the first of Bartholdi's driving pupils to go through a red light. We are happy to hear that they have both been pardoned. PHILIP BECKTOFT is present owner of Merchant's apple farm. His wife. CAROLINE SEELEY, is now 4-H leader in Saratoga County. They just bought a McCormick tractor from farm appliance dealer, ANNA -BELLE KILDAY. We also find that undertaker, ALEXANDER CAPASSO, has taken over Lattimore's Funeral Parlor. DONALD STEWART is starting a new drive - in ice cream business. BETSY SIMMONS is the chief dipper in this establishment. EDNA SMITH and fiance. GARY SPRAKER, recently had a double Stewart special there. They are recovering in the new Ballston hospital run by Director of Nurses, MARY ZEPKO. JOHN DEYO is the publisher of the Saratogian, which is the most popular newspaper in the country. A re cent news item announces that BARBARA BARNES, LUCILLE MESHOWSKI, CATHERINE BENINATI and BARBARA NOYES have formed a organization of canteens for lonely shipwrecked sailors. Thus, we discover that the world has become a better place in which to live through the efforts of the 1952 graduating class of Ballston Spa High School. Of course that's a matter of opinion.
