It seems to me they come to share Each joy or sorrow that we bear. Among the living I can feel the sweet Departed spirits steal, and whether it Be weal or woe, I walk with thou I used To know. I can recall them to my side Whenever I am struggle-tried; I've but to wish for them, and they Come trooping gayly down the way, and I can tell to them my grief and from Their presence find relief, in sacred Memories below still live the friends Of long ago. 4 Edgar A. As we sat and talked, we started discussing those good old days” back at B.S.H.S. Upon looking back, we found that we had had many interesting and wonderful times in our Alma Mater. During our Sophomore year, we formed a new club The Dance Club. Many of the class members participated in this helpful, interesting club. It was in our junior year that several of our class members showed outstanding work in several subjects. This was proven when, at graduation of the class of 1951. Mary Mason, Douglas Crabo, Elliott Weinstein, Fred Coleman, and Albert Monaco received prizes in various subjects. As we looked back, one of the most outstanding events of our high school days, of course, was the Junior Prom. Our theme was Stairway to the Stars. Daniel Caslin was chairman of the Prom committee, and he was ably assisted by a number of the members of our class. The whole group put in a lot of time to prepare the gym for the big night. Mr. Rock was also commended for the helpful assistance he gave us in preparing the gymnasium Many members of our classes headed our class and various organizations at different times. The newly-formed Dance Club was headed by Nancie Cramer. During our Senior year, Leon Crosier was the president of the Service Club. In our Junior year, Mary Mason tried her hand at controlling our at-times unruly class during class meetings. She was assisted by Anne Stinson, Vice President; Janet Mason, Secretary; and Anne Morse, Treasurer. In our Senior year, Daniel Caslin tried his hand at the tough job. The other officers for that year were Joe Conte, Janet Mason, and Bill Manhey. We were well represented by Student Council officers also. Janet Mason was secretary for her Sophomore and Junior years. Anne Stinson was vice-president in her junior year. In our senior year, Mary Mason was president; Joe Conte, vice-president; and John Jurcsak, treasurer. All our officers showed that they knew what they were doing. Among the big events of our senior year was Adam’s Evening, the senior play. The members of the class participating were: Daniel Caslin, Sandra Robinson, Joan Hansen, Anne Morse, Douglas Crabo, Jean DiBlasio. 22 Ely Bagg, Joseph Zepko, Elliott Weinstein, and Joan Steiner. This play was directed by Mrs Marino, who deserved all the credit possible for making the play the success it was. Again, Mr. Rock, who was in charge of the make-up, deserved a lot of credit. Our class had many members who were active in musical activities. Some of these participated in All-State Festival and Siena Band Clinic. Among the outstanding musicians in our class were Elliott Weinstein, Joan Petteys, John Kinnicutt. and Joan Hansen John Kinnicutt, William Manhey, Alfonse Funicello, Richard Crose, Albert Monaco, and Louis Guido were some of the members of our class who were outstanding in sports. Our teams were cheered to victory by Dorothy Dohig, Jean DiBlasio, Phyllis Shaw. Anne Stinson, Anne Morse, and Mary Mason, at different times. Seniors participating in the American Legion Oratorical Contest were Mary Mason, Anne Stinson, Elliot Weinstein, and Joan Steiner. All of them showed good ability in speaking and presented interesting speeches. This yearbook, which was one of our big sources of memories, was ably edited by Mary Mason (that girl seems to have gotten into everything). Mary was assisted by Elliot Weinstein, Ely Bagg, Joan Steiner, and Joan Petteys. The school newspaper, the Buzzer was very aptly edited by Elliot Weinstein, a senior who was outstanding in school affairs. Every member of our class will always remember our trip to Washington not only because it was exciting, enjoyable, and educational, but because of the many humorous and embarrassing situations. All this reminded us of what a wonderful and talented class we had. In everything we did. we all joined hands in co-operation to make our school years successful, profitable, and enjoyable for all. In June, 1951, we were graduated into a world of turmoil where we all had to join hands with new people in new and different situations which could only be mastered by joining hands with others as we had done in Ball-ston Spa High School 23 £ hi rttof The days may come, the days may go. But still the hands of memory weave The blissful dreams of long ago Well folks, here we are at the inauguration of Father John Jursack as President of Notre Dame. There are people here from all walks of life to see this great event. An unusual thing has happened, folks, every member of John's high school graduating class is here to congratulate him. I suppose you would like to hear what they’have accomplished in the past ten years, so here is news reporter David Thomas (no relation to Lowell), to give you an idea of what his classmates, ten years ago, are doing now. said a famous movie star into the mike Thanks Doug, answered David. Of course all of you remember Douglas Crabo from our days in B.S.H.S. As I look over the crowd I see the Wilsons, Joan and Jack, and their four children. How’s Mindy, Joan? Joan's best friend. Joan Petteys is a music teacher in B.S.H.S. when she isn't looking after the little Mullins.” Janet Carpenter and Douglas Lanfear are still trying to figure out which came first the chicken or the egg. Of course, you knew that they took over Carpenter's poultry business, didn’t you? Bookie” John La Barge’s place was raided yesterday by Sheriff Thomas Swift (known for size and speed), and his deputies, Reclining Rosenbrock and Sleepy Seeley Marjie Bush finally eloped with Phil, after ten years engagement. Daniel Palmer has established his own airport and of course the planes are all of his own design. Joe Conte is recovering from his fall in Round Lake (some say Barbara pushed him). The Three Muskateers, Anne Stinson, Phyllis Shaw, and Gus Dohig have taken over the Royal Roost Their theme song is Til Royals Disappears Fonzie and Eddie Rutkowski are now managers of the Ballston Globe Trotters. The team is made up of Joan Steiner, Helen Coon, Olga Miller, Edna Hudson, Gloria Pachter and Elnora Cook Bill Manhey has answered the ad for a job that offered $40 a week and all you can eat. I hope that he will be very happy as Leon Crosiers best driver on his garbage route. 24 “Janet Mason and Steve Hall are still parked out in front of the school. Come now. Janet, don't you think that it is time to go home? School is over. Daniel Murry is Ballston’s newest beautician, he has taken over Frank's His specialty is peroxiding hair. Herbert Griffin is trying to build up some lasting friendships in Jean Flinton's establishment. Bernice Older is now the Social Studies teacher in B.S.H.S. She has taken over room nine. Elliot Weinstein has appropriately changed his name to Einstein. Mary Mason is waiting for Bernie to get out of the Navy. Thomas Gerard is now in charge of Driver's Training in B.S.H.S. “Sandra Robinson, the famous hair stylist’s, newest creation is having the right half of your hair long and the left half short. Ann Morse is now running Ann's Coffee Park on Route nine. Colleen Willard is married and has beaten the Stinson family—she has ten. Lois Sherwood is now the star dancer at Oddfellows’ Hall. Albert Monaco will be the last one to let you down. (He's Ballston’s new undertaker Louis Guido and Tykie” Kinnicutt have bands of their own in Hollywood. Arlone Hooker is now married to Bob (?) and is living in Rotterdam. Fred Coleman is the janitor of B.S.H.S. Bob Hawkes is one of the G.E.'s brightest electrical engineers. “George Hartman is a manufacturer of jet planes now. Photographer Ely Bagg is taking newsreels of this great event. (Ely does a little acting for a hobby under the name of Milton Hope.) Donald Plummer is now married to the beautiful movie actress, Margaret O'Brien Dick Grose has taken over the N.V. Herald Tribune. Walter Sweet is his assistant editor. I guess we’ll have to close now; the procession is just going into the chapel. Howard McMann will take over from in there, finished David. 25 CLASS CLLLBAITILS 26 t''0' Tnd “p WV Joaf' y £ Ofc 'Jd ' er y T fO scW°° .w-’S S- Oaf W aO asof' 27 BOVS Blake, Elmer Bohme, Ray Carson, Carl Coon, William Cornell, Theodore Cossey, Eugene Craft, Donald Crawford.
