The Clark Wynne orchestra of San Angelo provided the music for the dance. The hall was beautifully decorated with red and White crepe paper streamers, red tis s ue and styrofoam hearts adorned with red sequin designs, Small red hearts with the na me s of the ones presented at the C or ona tion inscribed on them were strung on white satin ribbons and given as favors. VOL. 16 or Texas, Janunrv 10 , SUSAN HERRING, Editor-in-Chief LYNN HERRING NI TA DUKE As sis tant Editors The first issue of Cat Tracks, s chool paper of Ballinger High Scho ol, was pub- lished in October, 1944, From this four page publication, Cat Tracks has grown to a six to eight page paper with spac e for over forty advertis- ments and such individual features as The Sniffing Bearcat, Bearcat on the Beat, Sports Slants, and Club Notes, Cat Tracks is publishe d every three weeks during the school term by students of Ballinger High School. The staff is elected in March for the following year. The editor, assistant editor, make-up typists, and class reporters are selected by the exe c utive committee composed of the sponsor, editor, and assistant editor. Other members of the staff include advertising solicitors, feature writers, sports writers, typists, and art- ists. Cat Tracks is a member of Interscho- lastic League Press Conference and a mem- ber from District 3A. It is commercially printed by the Ballinger Printing Company. The staff chose this theme to assist the community in this united civic project. The float won fifth place Nancy and Irene, photography staff mem- bers, developed many rolls of film this year, Nancy has taken four years of science. June chose the Science Club float as her project. She also assisted as atypistdur- ing the year.
