Text from Pages 1 - 168 of the 1974 volume:

tmmi Two roads diverged in ayellow wood. . ; Robert Frost Life is a never ending series of roads upon which we are seekers trying to find who we are and where we are going. Whether we find the road of happiness, friendship, individuality, success or failure, the memories we gather will be the road which will take us home. I go — my road to find. 4 Come take my hand and walk with me along the road of friendship. Help me to climb the steep hills and to cross over the narrow bridges; share with me the sweet scent of flowers and the soft, gentle breezes. Friendship, one of life's brightest stars, is our greatest hope for peace within ourselves and throughout the world. Come share with me — life, and I will give in return — friendship. 5 6 I find happiness through sharing, learning, worshipping, playing, and working. 10 My quiet road — where I can develope my skills, perfect my talents, discover my limitations, and set my goals for the future. I reflect the past and project the future, keeping in mind the words of Robert Frost: (tTwo roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by. And that has made all the difference.99 As we travel, we find ourselves in a world of competition. We learn to compete by practicing, playing, participating, and creating. Our successes inspire us; our failures humble us. This competition within ourselves and with others gives us the encouragement and the fortitude to walk the next mile. Ah, the inevitable road home! How distant it seems, yet how near it is to each of us. The journey is long; the road is narrow and winding. We do not know for certain where the road is leading. As we steadily travel ahead, only one dream is certain — that through the memories we have gathered, we will be able to take the last road home. They provide fresh air. They supply clean water. They offer places for recreation. They provide wood for paper, lumber, plywood and five-thousand other forest products. And because trees are a renewable resource, we can use them today and still have enough trees for the future. Man can be a good steward of his forests. That's why we have so many trees today. And we're growing new trees even faster than we're harvesting mature ones—for now. By practicing wise-use and conservation of our forests, we can all help provide trees for tomorrow.
