Class Highlights DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN------------ We were freshmen? - Rhea Bowles was elected class president. - The Boys Chorus was rated Superior at the Murray Music Festival. We were sophomores? - We elected Tim Giles class president. - Jane Allen and Patty Owsley were elected cheerleaders. - Pat Stewart and Joyce Ausenbaugh were elected officers of the Student Council. - Carolyn Terry was chosen third runner-up in the Miss Ballard Beacon contest- - Sixteen members of our class joined the A Cappella Choir. We were juniors? - Jimmy Cooper was elected class president. - Our class play, Rebel Without a Cause, was a big success. - Jane Allen, Patty Owsley, and Carolyn Terry were elected cheerleaders. - Phyllis Calvert and Larry Bass received the Dramatic awards. - Carolyn Terry was elected Miss Popularity. - The theme of our Prom was A Fairyland Romance. - Patty Owsley and Lynn Gough were chosen Prom Queen and King. - Five of our junior boys played on the Bomber squad. - Some of us bravely took the Merit Scholarship test. - Phyllis Calvert and Carolyn Terry were runners-up in the Miss Ballard Beacon contest. - Lynn Gough was elected Student Council president. We were seniors? - We chose Whitey Elliott as class president. - Jane Allen and Patty Owsley were elected cheerleaders for the third consecutive year. - Elaine Elms was named a Merit Scholarship Finalist. - Carolyn Terry was crowned Basketball Queen. - We struggled with term papers and passages from Macbeth. 16
