3 'ore wo i yf We, the 1966 yearbook staff, present this book as a record of the 1965-66 Ballard Memorial school year. Efforts of the staff and the sponsor have been directed toward recreating the past year in pictures and print. We sincerely hope this annual will help you remember your accomplishments, failures, and pleasures and challenge you to build a better future. Its innovations are intended to create a more complete view of Ballard school life. Candid shots entered among the senior and junior class pictures illustrate this intention. For a more interesting advertising section we have placed shots of students and businesses in this division of our book. We have also added landscape scenes of Ballard County and photos of thepaint-ings hanging in our classrooms. The theme of our 1966 Bomb is Books”. Division pages, the contents page, and faculty philosophies on books tie our pages together, as these suggest the theme. Ellen Terry, editor 7! jtourney J(iruutf i 7$a Hard 77Tvrnoria 5

MISS ELLA MAE MEGARY Dedication During her forty-three years in the Ballard County School System, the influence and guidance of “Miss Ella Mae” have lighted the paths of learning for the many hundreds of students who have had the great privilege of attending her classes. Through her devotion to education and her skill in mathematics, she has made an invaluable contribution to the attainment of the students attending Ballard Memorial High School. A charter member of our faculty, “Miss Ella Mae” retired at the end of the 1964-65 school year. Her enthusiasm, patience, and understanding in helping those in need of guidance have made her a student favorite. The vacant Room 11 pictured below helps us express the loss we feel in her absence. In sincere appreciation of these admirable qualities, we proudly dedicate the 1965-66 Bomb to Miss Ella Mae Megary. Sally Price 6
