J'our- 7Jear Ga encfar of € uen s DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN------------ We became freshmen at B.M.H.S. in 1962, 153 strong? - In our first election of class officers, we chose Mike Petty as class President? - Susan Jones and Linda Yancey were elected cheerleaders? The Girls' Chorus rated Excellent” at the Murray Music Festival? We were sophomores? - We chose Mike Petty to lead us through another year as class President? - The Beta Club initiated twenty-seven of our class members? - Mary Lou Loudermilk was elected Basketball Queen? - Carolyn Mills won second place in the NOMA Quad State Spelling Competition? - Anita Riley and Preston Howie were elected officers of the Student Council? We were jolly juniors? - We elected, for the third straight year, Mike Petty President? - Gale Long, Mary Lou Loudermilk, and Jana Sargent were elected cheerleaders? - Those of us who were taking business courses joined the newly-formed FBLA? - Kathe Fondaw was chosen Basketball Queen? - The Bombers with three of our junior boys won second place in the Calloway Christmas Tournament, the Second District Tournament, and the First Region Tournament? - Our prom with the theme, Hawaiian Cruise, was one of the best? - Gerald Hobbs was the fastest track athlete in Western Kentucky? - Some of us bravely took the Merit Scholarship Test? - The junior play, Our Town, was a smashing success? - Mike Petty was elected President of the Student Council? We began our senior year? - We chose Pat Moynahan as class President for our last year? - We sold more magazines than any other senior class (over $2000)? - Mike Pace was named a Merit Scholarship semi-finalist? - We worked in frustration on the Air Force test? - Mike Petty, Jimmy Allen, and Mike Pace began the ball season as second-year Bombers? - Margaret Summers won the Miss Ballard Beacon beauty contest? - The senior play, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, was the best comedy presented by a class in some time? Our class, a credit to the entire school throughout these past four years, has produced some excellent leaders. Approximately fifty members of our class have participated in extracurricular activities. Sixty positions of officers in various clubs have been held by 65 seniors. A high percentage of our class makes the honor roll regularly. Some of our particular characteristics as observed by the teachers who know us best follow: co-operative - likable - brainy - jovial - dependable -energetic - congenial - ambitious - better-than-average With such an exciting and eventful past and so satisfying a present, let us continue through this school year and through life in such a way that we may be worthy of our admirable reputation as the Class of '65!
