Congratulations to the class of 1955! You entered Ballard Memorial, a new institution, in September, 1952 as a disunited group of boys and girls from many schools; but in the past three years you have become one united group from all communities in the county. You have accomplished much in the way of building unity, school spirit, tradition, name and reputation for your young Alma Mater. As you leave her portals, we are confident that you will uphold her high ideals and principles; that you will never cease to be interested in her growth and welfare. May we hope that you and each succeeding class will dedicate yourselves to the task of working for the things which she needs to enable her to do a better job for her sons and daughters. Again. I congratulate you. W. F. McGARY Board Members W. F. HOOK C. M. PARSONS LEWIS PIPPIN W. (BILL) RYAN CEORGE WINN

May Time treat him gently and smile kindly on his efforts to make this a better school and a better world in which to live. It is with this thought that we, the 1955 BOMB staff, dedicate this book to our principal, Mr. Richard L. Winebarger. ANNUM. STAFF Dedication

Zhe • '! r’Yt- • • fir 1 Is . 1 lv ' Dear Students, During the school year of 1954-55 we have faced many problems which challenged our ingenuity, energy and ability to think clearly. Through the solving of these problems we have become better qualified to meet the challenges of society and everyday living. Education reaches its zenith when it creates in us a desire for a better way of life and at the same time permits us to develop the habits, attitudes and skills necessary to build such a society. You will note in reviewing the 1954-55 “Bomb” that we have made progress. The faculty and students are justly proud to expend every effort for greater progress in curricular and extracurricular activities. As you. the class of 1954-55 leave school, and go out into the various fields of endeavor you carry with you my hope that in some way you have gleaned from your high school experiences sufficient individual initiative, knowledge, and mental, physical and moral stability to prepare you for the road ahead. To each of you I wish to express appreciation for your loyalty and cooperative spirit. Sincerely yours, HICHARI) L. W1NEBARGER
